About

Thanks for your interest in me. Here are a few biographical details:

I’m an Australian, born and raised in Sydney. Having qualified initially as a geologist, I had something an alphabet of jobs over twenty years—scientist, teacher, musician, storeman, charity worker, juvenile prison guard, bouncer, busker, radio voice-over, to name a few—before settling down as an freelance IT consultant and software/systems analyst-developer. Over the last dozen years, I have designed software systems currently in use in Australia, New Zealand, South-East Asia, UK and USA. If there’s anyone who can claim an eclectic CV, it’s me. Some years ago, I bought, and moved to, a farm in rural Tasmania, from where I run my business as well as grow organic fruit and vegetables on a small scale. I’m married with a three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve-year-old boy and a beautiful baby one two three four five six seven eight-year-old girl (gosh, have I been blogging that long?)

As of May 2013, I’m officially “semi-retired”; which means in practice, I plan to move into one or two new commercial ventures over the next few years, giving me more time at home with my family—that’s the plan, anyway.

Update September 2018: Well, after the events of 2013, I decided to start a new career at the ripe old age of 50. So I went back to university, obtained qualifications in psychotherapy and now practice live as well as by Skype, with clientele in some far-flung places. As you’ve no doubt already worked out, I’m no longer blogging, but hope to return to writing at some point in the future.

Cheers

Ozboy
